Wendy Hinman grew up sailing and has been sailing for more than 40 years. She taught sailing in the Chesapeake Bay and has cruised and raced in venues around the globe in all sorts of boats as skipper and crew, sometimes winning. She spent seven years at sea, sailing 34,000 miles aboard her 31 foot cutter, Velella, with her husband. She enjoyed it so much, she never wanted to stop voyaging.
