Sea School Northwest Industry Panel - Learn About Jobs on the Water, How to Get Them, What They're Like
A special Sea School Northwest Industry Panel offers you a chance to learn about the growing opportunities for work on the water. This adventurous industry has an average salary of $70,800 in Washington State and ranges from jobs on ferries to research vessels, cruise ships to tug boats, and more. Thanks to the Port Townsend School of Woodworking and Preservation Trades providing their space at the annual PT Wooden Boat Festival, you can listen to 4 to 6 working mariners discuss what their jobs are really like, how they started their career, and offer their practical advice for aspiring mariners. Ask questions! Learn if this industry is right for you. Refreshments provided. No festival admission required. Sea School Northwest staff will describe their 8 week training program on tall ship Hawaiian Chieftain and go over applying for available scholarships. More information at www.seaschoolnw.org.
