This presentation looks at a wide variety of western-style (i.e. not Japanese) hand
saws for working wood. You’ll learn why these saws are of different sizes and
shapes; the different types of cuts they make (including compound angle cuts
across curved surfaces--a task a machine needs time-consuming setup to
accomplish); and how to hold the stock to increase speed while reducing
workload. You’ll also see how to hone, sharpen and maintain these saws so
they’ll last for many generations to come.
